Nikko Park Lodge Tobu Station - Nikkó

Friendly and helpful staff. Their cafe makes a great curry! Located right across from the Tobu station right in Nikko. We had a comfortable bed and pillows. There was a small TV.

Although staff are nice they do seem to lack attention to detail such as lot of dust under beds, 3 light bulbs were blown, food scraps still in the kitchen sink filter and bought 3 items from little snack bar for the trip home, all had expired by at least one month, watch out for that. Overall it was good enough for the price so can't complain. Like I said just need more attention to detail.

It was not clean. It was very cold in the room in November with wind blowing through the windows, the airconditioneer worked to make it warm and was very loud - difficult to sleep with the sound, no possibility to switch it off as the room temperature was quickly as in the street outside, They had warming electric blankets, but it did not help as the head became extremely cold. If I had a hat, I would have slept in it.

They have not been maintaining the rooms, we saw the big differences as we have stayed in the same hotel 4 years ago. They really need to renovate the place.

Very Good Location, Opposite Tobu Station

We had ordered two rooms. But when we returned to the hotel at 8pm,one of our room even had cleaned yet!!!@@!!!!And it was dirty everywhere in the room!The air-condition was so noisy !The water-switch was nonfunctional,we got cold water in the night!!!!!! It's really bad !!

The reception was not staffed in the non check in hours which were 15:00 to 18:00. There is no buzzer in order to call them. We arrived at 11:00 AM and had to look for a phone in order to call the hotel. The room was not super clean.

The hotel was overbooked so the owner drove us to Nikko Park Lodge near the park but which was quite far from the station. Nice common area to meet other travellers. The friendly owner drove us back to the station the next day.

The hotel is closed between 2-5pm so you have to call the owner if you arrive between then which is costly if you have an overseas mobile.

I stayed in the dormitory which separated from the main reception, but they have all the facility I need. Dormitory is a two stories house with two bedroom (mix doemitory and female dormitory) which I see it's very good. The house is clean and quiet. I stayed there for four nights which is a very good time of my trip.

The accommodation is located very near to Nikko jr Station. That is very convenient for people who took the trains to get to the place. The place also allows us to accommodate 5 adults in one single unit. We were given a unit on one of the floors which was big enough to house all 5 of us comfortably and given the price we paid for, definitely worth the money.

The unit we stayed in was very dusty. 2 of the members in our group who are more sensitive to dust ended up sneezing and having a runny nose whenever we are in the unit. Our sneezes and runny nose miraculously disappeared whenever we left the room, though. Some of the cupboards in the unit seemed to be the storage grounds for dirty futon and blankets which can be a bit unsettling. I have never in my whole life paid for an accommodation which is also half the hotel's storage compartment.

We stayed at the Nikko Park Mountain Lodge by mistake but they let us stay there nonetheless in a room with a mountain view. The staff spoke English and were very kind and helpful. The room was clean and a good size (for Japan) and contained TV, fan, AC, en suite bathroom and wifi. Breakfast was provided (for a cost). The hotel felt like a family country house with a communal living room area.

There are two Nikko Park Lodge hotels (one by Tobu Station and another in the mountains), so be sure to know which one you tell the taxi driver! The hotel felt a bit old.

Close to train stations and major supermarket. Room had all the essentials.

This hotel was nothing special, especially for the price. There was luckily a staff member present when we checked in but we never saw any staff after this and the reception/restaurant area was closed. I think we were the only people staying in the hotel which could have used some updating.

The location

Way overpriced and not well serviced

When you see this hotel from the outside, you may be a little bit disappointed. However, inside will positively surprise you. This hotel offers a normal (according to the European standards) size 1 room appartment with all needed facilities + a good location. This was the biggest room we have ever had during our stay in Japan.

In april the check-in time was a little bit inconvenient: from 15:00 to 18:00 with no opportunity to eave your luggage inside. The owner explaned that in the summer this hotel will be open the whole day.

Too expensive for the empty season. In Tokyo one can have 4 stars hotel for the same price
